Westfield’s opening weekend was May 19 and we are so excited to be welcoming our visitors once again on Sunday afternoons from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. to enjoy the historic buildings and the activities we have planned. Each Sunday until the end of October we welcome visitors to come and visit with our costumed volunteers who will be providing demonstrations and a variety of activities throughout the season. We will also be open on these holidays: Monday, July 1, Monday, September 2, and Monday, October 14 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Each day that we are open there will also be a family craft for everyone to enjoy. Check out our schedule:

May 26 – the lilacs are almost finished blooming. We’re capturing those last moments by making a lilac bloom using tissue paper.

June 2 – Have you ever painted using broccoli? Here’s your chance. We’re painting a picture of our fruit trees using a vegetable as a paint brush.

June 9 – The Spring Peepers are chirping. Come make a frog using paper and a clothes pin.

June 15 and June 16 – Celebrating 60 years of craft making. We are bringing out our favourite – the Thaumatrope. Not sure what that is? Come find out.

June 23 – It’s Indigenous History Month. We’ve learnt from our Indigenous friends that the strawberry is considered the Heart Berry and in Indigenous culture is used to teach about peace and forgiveness. We’re making 3D heart cards.

June 30 – Come weave your own paper placemat in our favourite colours this weekend – red and white!

Admission is $16.00 for car and driver and each additional person is $5.00. Children 5 years and under are free.

Remember to save the dates June 15 and June 16 when we will be launching our 60th Anniversary year. We have special activities planned for both days from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Advance Reservations are not required for these two dates.
