Buzzy Day at Westfield on Sunday!

Westfield volunteers, horticulturists and bee keepers, Rick and Marion Robertson, will be out this coming Sunday, June 24 to provide interesting talks about bees and pollinators. Join Rick from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Hardware Store as he gives an informative talk on the role of bees and pollinators in our ecosystem. From 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Marion will lead a discussion about best varieties of trees and shrubs to support pollinating species.

Sunday will also mark the official launch of a new game app that visitors can download to their phone while here at Westfield. Learn more about this interactive virtual tour at 1:30 p.m. in the Ironwood Hall. Thanks goes to the students from the Communication Technology, Computer Science and Integrated Technologies department at Hamilton District Christian High under the direction of Harry Blyleven for this great opportunity to marry history and modern technology.

Visitors are also encouraged to come out to the Westfield Master Plan Open House on Sunday, June 24 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Hamilton Conservation Authority is updating the Master Plan that will help guide the next 10 years of operation at Westfield. This is an opportunity to review the draft plan and provide comments. If you are not able to attend this meeting but wish to review the plan and give comment please contact Katherine Smith at 905-525-2181 ext. 117 or email Katherine.smith@conservationhamilton.ca
