Step Right Up! Play all Day at Westfield’s Ice Cream Carnival!

Westfield’s annual funfest is right around the corner. The Ice Cream Carnival is an August  long weekend tradition, and for good reason. Where else can you sample delicious  homemade ice cream, enjoy free rides on an antique steam traction engine and play Edwardian carnival games to your heart’s content?

The fun all happens on Sunday August 5 and Monday August 6 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Six traditional churns will be up and running and you can enjoy free samples of ice creams made using old fashioned recipes, with flavours like fresh blueberry, ginger cookie and peppermint. You are welcome to roll up your sleeves and help out with the cranking.

One of the most unique features of this event is the Edwardian Carnival, where you will find traditional games set up on the village green under brightly decorated canvas tents. You can visit with the fortune teller, take a picture on the moon with your friends, race your horse to the finish line, fish in a barrel and more. The games and activities are fun for all ages and you can play as much as you want, no tickets required!

If the ice cream samples have you craving more, you can visit the Crazy Cravings truck for a sundae or slushy, or step into the Ironwood Hall for a slice of homemade pie and ice cream. The General Store will be your destination for Pickle-on-a-Stick, ice cream novelties, old fashioned candy and cool bottles of soda. You are always welcome to bring a picnic to Westfield to enjoy at a picnic table or under a shady tree. The Copetown Lions will also be serving up delicious food in the picnic area.
