Family volunteering involves more than one person in a household or extended family, from different generations, volunteering together. Westfield provides a unique setting for families to enjoy time together focused on preserving and presenting a history of Upper Canada.
Families will volunteer as a unit and parents are responsible for the supervision of their children. As age and maturity dictates the supervising parent should have the child within their eyesight or be aware of the child’s location. There are many opportunities for children to be involved in meaningful activities including: crafts, household chores, gardening and games. If you are interested in this program an application should be filled out for each family member and forwarded to Westfield.
Interested families may contact westfield@conservationhamilton.ca for further information. Once the completed application form is received an interview will be arranged to see if there is a good fit for your family at Westfield, followed by training and orientation.
