The holiday season at Westfield Heritage Village sparkles to life this month with unique Christmas programs throughout December. Step back in time to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Christmas past. “The village is a magical place at Christmas.” says Rondalyn Brown, Manager at Westfield. “The Christmas spirit is really irresistible – for our visitors and our volunteers!”
At Westfield you can visit more than 35 historic buildings and experience Christmas as it would have been celebrated in the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian eras. Savour the smell of fresh baked traditional goodies, the scent of cinnamon and the twinkle of lanterns. Warm yourself by the fire at the D’Aubigny Inn, purchase sweet treats at the General Store and enjoy seasonal performances by talented musicians. Little ones can send a telegraph to the North Pole at the Railway Station, have a visit with Father Christmas, and make a traditional Christmas ornament at the one room log schoolhouse.
“One of my favourite features of the ‘Twas the Night before Christmas program is the spectacular fireworks show that takes place at 6:30 pm.” says Brown. “Fireworks in the winter are just amazing!”
This evening will include a very special surprise arrival by Father Christmas! Bring your camera!
In the spirit of the season, Westfield will be accepting donations for the Flamborough Food Bank. Help fill the sleigh at the admission gates with non-perishable food donations!
