Join us on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. for Textile Day. Members of the Cambridge Spinners and Weavers Guild will be out to share some of their dye bath recipes. Make sure to visit the Marr Spinning and Weaving Shop to see a rope making demonstration. You might want to try your hand at it too.
The Village Tailor and Tailoress will talk about traditional tailoring and dressmaking techniques. Visit with our Master Spinner at the Misener House who will have demonstrations of wool working within a domestic setting. The ladies at the Gillen House will continue their work on their quilt and find out how to process flax into linen thread.
Plan to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in our picnic area or purchase a refreshing old-fashioned soda at the Eddie D. Cat Confectionery. There are yummy cookies too.
Admission for an adult is $11.00, a senior is $10.00, a youth (6-17 years) is $6.50 and a child 5 and under is free. We also accept the Hamilton Conservation Authority Membership pass.
